Dysport in Las Vegas at Sundrata Clinic

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is an injectable neuromodulator that temporarily softens the lines formed by repeated facial expression. At Sundrata Clinic in Las Vegas, Dysport injections are planned and overseen by a physician-led team and delivered by licensed providers, with a complimentary consultation before any treatment is scheduled. Patients come to us from Summerlin, Tivoli Village, Queensridge, Peccole Ranch, Spring Valley and Henderson, NV. Most want the same thing: expression lines softened without looking treated.

What Is Dysport®?

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a purified botulinum toxin type A.
Injected into a specific muscle, it temporarily reduces that muscle’s
ability to contract. Because dynamic wrinkles are caused by muscle movement under the skin, relaxing the muscle lets the skin above it smooth.

Dysport is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines, the vertical frown lines between the brows, in adults under 65. Use in other areas of the face is off-label and performed at the physician’s discretion.

What Dysport does:
– Temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles
– Softens lines created by repeated expression
– May help slow the deepening of those lines over time

What Dysport does not do:
– It does not add volume. That is the role of dermal fillers.
– It does not resurface texture, pigment or sun damage.
– It does not tighten loose skin. For laxity, see facial skin tightening.

Dysport vs Botox: Which Is Right for You?

Both Dysport and Botox® Cosmetic are botulinum toxin type A products used to soften dynamic wrinkles. Neither is better than the other. They are formulated differently, and the differences mainly affect how treatment is planned.

– Units are not interchangeable. Dysport is dosed at roughly 2.5 to 3 units for every 1 unit of Botox, so a lower per-unit price does not mean a lower treatment cost.

– Onset. Many patients notice Dysport taking effect within 2 to 4 days. Botox commonly takes slightly longer.

– Spread. Dysport diffuses somewhat more broadly from the injection point, which some injectors prefer for larger areas like the forehead and find less suitable for small, precise targets.

– Duration. Both typically last around 3 to 4 months, with individual variation.

Which suits you depends on the area treated, your muscle strength and how you have responded to neuromodulators before. Many patients use both for different areas. See our Botox page for more.

What Causes Expression Lines, and Signs Dysport May Help

Facial lines fall into two categories, and the difference determines whether Dysport is the right treatment. Dynamic lines appear when you make an expression and disappear when your face is at rest. Frowning, squinting and raising the brows produce them. These are the lines Dysport addresses. Static lines are visible even when your face is fully relaxed. They develop when years of repeated folding, collagen loss and sun exposure leave a permanent crease. Dysport may soften them by reducing the movement that deepens them, but it cannot erase a line already etched into the skin. Signs Dysport may be appropriate:

– Vertical lines between your brows when you concentrate or frown

– Horizontal forehead lines when you raise your eyebrows

– Lines fanning from the outer corners of your eyes when you smile

– A heavy or tired look across the upper face caused by muscle pull

– Early lines you want to keep from deepening  If your lines stay visible at rest, your consultation may point toward a different approach. Deep static lines often respond better to the NouvaDerm™ laser or facial skin resurfacing, while volume loss is addressed through non-surgical face lift and volumizing.

Areas Dysport Can Treat

Frown Lines

The glabellar complex, the muscles between and just above the brows, is the only area for which Dysport carries FDA approval. These are the vertical “11s” that form when you frown, concentrate or squint into Las Vegas sun. This area is typically the starting point for patients new to neuromodulators. It responds predictably, and results read as a softer resting expression rather than an obviously treated one.

Forehead Lines and Crow's Feet

Horizontal forehead lines come from the frontalis muscle, which lifts the brows. Crow’s feet come from the orbicularis oculi, the ring of muscle around each eye. Treatment of both areas with Dysport is off-label and performed at the physician’s discretion. Forehead dosing in particular requires restraint and an understanding of how much lift your brows depend on. Over-treating the forehead is what produces a heavy brow, which is why assessing your individual muscle pattern matters more than applying a standard dose.

Jawline, Masseter, and Other Advanced Areas

Several other uses are common in aesthetic practice, all of them off-label:

– Masseter treatment for jaw slimming. The masseter is the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw. Where it is enlarged, relaxing it can soften a square lower-face contour over several months.

– Dysport for TMJ-related clenching. Some patients with jaw clenching or grinding report relief when the masseter is treated. This is not an FDA-approved indication and is not a substitute for dental evaluation.

– Lip flip. A small dose along the upper lip border can allow the lip to roll slightly outward, creating the appearance of more visible lip without filler.

– Brow lift. Treating the muscles that pull the brow down can allow the brow to sit slightly higher.

– Bunny lines, chin dimpling, downturned mouth corners and neck bands in selected cases.

Advanced areas are assessed individually. Not every patient is a candidate, and your provider will tell you directly if an area is not appropriate for you.

What to Expect During Treatment

Treatment time: 10–15 minutes

Most appointments are done in under 20 minutes, depending on how many areas are treated.

No anesthesia required

A very fine needle is used. Topical numbing is available on request.

Minimal discomfort

Most patients describe a brief pinch at each injection site.

No downtime

Small bumps settle within 15 to 30 minutes. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.

Most patients return to normal activities immediately following treatment.

Dysport Results Timeline and How Long It Lasts

Days 2 to 3: First effects typically become noticeable.

Days 7 to 14: Full effect develops. This is when the result should be assessed.

Months 3 to 4: Effect gradually wears off as muscle movement returns.

Results vary by individual. Duration depends on the area treated, the dose used, your metabolism and how strong the treated muscles are. Patients with very strong or very active facial muscles often find duration at the shorter end of the range.

Some patients report that with consistent treatment over time, lines return less severely between appointments. Most patients schedule maintenance every 3 to 4 months.

Are You a Good Candidate for Dysport?

Dysport may be appropriate if you:

Have a neuromuscular disorder such as myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome or ALS

Have an active skin infection at the intended injection site

Have had an allergic reaction to any botulinum toxin product Your provider will review your medical history, current medications, supplements and allergies before treatment.

Certain medications, including some antibiotics and muscle relaxants, can interact with botulinum toxin.

Candidacy is determined in consultation with a qualified Sundrata Clinic provider, not from a web page.
